Is it true that men get stressed more easily than women or do women have a psychological advantage over men when handling stressed situations?

The most important reason why men and women react differently to stress are the hormones. cortisol, epinephrine, and oxytocin. It used to be thought that the amount of Cortisol and/or epinephrine secreted by different sexes is different, i.e women secreted more cortisol. That has been proven untrue. The real difference is in the amount of oxytocin secreted. There is more oxytocin secreted in women than in men. Since oxytocin counters the production of cortisol and epinephrine, women and men tend to react differently and men tend to get more stressed than women.
In women, when cortisol and epinephrine rush through the bloodstream in a stressful situation, oxytocin comes into play. It is released from the brain, countering the production of cortisol and epinephrine, and promoting nurturing and relaxing emotions.
While men also secrete the hormone oxytocin when they're stressed, it's in much smaller amounts, leaving them on the short end of the stick when it comes to stress and hormones. Women will often react in a more rational manner by even befriending instead of fighting in a stressful situation because of this hormonal difference.

Probably it's by nature, that men are found more impatient and easy to get stressed. On the other hand women are created with more patience, more perseverance and stress overcoming quality.

The reason could be related to giving birth to the child. It’s only the women mind that can bear this load yet remain without bursting into stress.

The stress is there to both sexes. women do (statistically) cope with it better. The chemistry related to it is explained above.

Ah yes, oxytocin, the love hormone. The hormone that helps new mothers to bond with a baby when they are nursing.

The mechanism behind it certainly makes sense, but I had never noticed a difference in coping between men and women. I wonder too if that is part of why we multi task better.

Stress is in the mind. As men think a lot, I believe they tend to get stressed easily. Women work more on the emotional level or feelings. As a result I feel they have an advantage over men. To sum it up, the more you use your head, the more are you liable to get stressed.

Just my observation

I don't think that men get more stressed out then women. I do think that women tend to be able to cope with it more though and also hide it very well

For centuries or from dawn of civilization, women have been oppressed or ate least dominated by men. There have been a few "amazons" civilizations where women reigned supreme. But that is an exception and was short-lived.
This factor alone could be the reason why women tend to are seen to be coping with stress more easily than men. They were subjected to more stress, learnt to hide it, and learnt to express emotionally when such a reaction would be to their advantage. what I mean here is that if you see a man crying and across the street a women crying, you are more likely to rush to her aid.
The habits and the reaction or coping techniques are passed down generations and remain as or become a part of a woman's total existence.

I remember having seen one advertisement form an insurance company which promised a better policy for women. My curiosity ended up with the findings that women are more careful in driving and thereby deserve a better policy.
And men, being the hot-tempered stressed-out, prone to more accidents. So, the insurance companies didn’t make the mistake.

Insurance companies use Actuaries, a highly qualified group of people, who can analyze all the risk factors. Such analysis would include, the obvious such as the longer life span of women, the driving habits of women, but also stress, hormone relationships, driving needs, driving times and frequency, changing work patterns, changing who drives who, and based on all the factors they would rate a group in a particular way and again differently for driving insurance an different for life or disability insurance. Stress factors would play some part in the decision making, but is NOT the whole story.
