The Holidays might be the most stressful time of year. There is so much to do, traffic is a mess, lines in stores go on seemingly forever, etc., etc. With all this stress its easy to feel like a pressure cooker about to explode.
Here is a very simple way of releasing those stressful feelings...and it only takes 30 seconds. The process is based on the principles of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and works to re-process the thoughts and feelings going on during stressful events.
Start by finding a place where you can sit down for about a minute. Then, while focusing on the stress you're feeling, tap your kneecaps in an alternating fashion--right then left then right then left at a pace of about 2 taps per second--and keep doing this for about 20-30 seconds. In the majority of cases you will feel much more relaxed and at ease with just one round, though you can do this as many times as you need to.
