This is great question Izrul and there were a lot of good suggestions. My favorite method of course is to balance my chakra system but I totally agree that breathing is extremely important. As a matter of fact if we would breath properly that itself would prevent a lot of stress to start with. I like a lot a way Mr. Koichi Tohei from Ki Society teaches it.

In addition (if you do not mind to be held for "crazy" )) the laughing is also good. I did anchor "good laugh" and always when I watch good comedy and when I laugh like a lunatic ) I reinforce my anchor and than all it takes, even if you feel really bad and wouldn't be able to laugh, is to apply that anchor and you start laughing without apparent reason for it. At first everybody will give you "a look" but than they will start laughing as well.

For me, the best way to deal with stress is to take a bit of time each day to do some active or passive relaxation. It's usually not long, maybe 15-20 minutes a day. I listen to relaxing music, do breathing exercises, positive affirmations, or meditate.

I usually do this before sleep because it's quiet around, and this way I also sleep much better. Morning, before you go off to do your daily routine, is good as well since it helps you stay relaxed throughout the day.

For instant relaxation, I do deep breathing exercises.

I agree with Jack, as an instant de-stressor, my top 5 methods would be:

1) exercise - burning off the adrenalin and releasing feel good endorphins
2) 5-10 mins deep breathing - calming myself down, letting thoughts come... and go... and using my breath as an anchor
3) talk to a supportive friend - they usually help me feel better. maybe organise to meet for a coffee/chat?
4) empty your head/write a list - if i feel i have 101 things to do, it helps to empty my 'to-do list' out of my head and onto a page. prioritising my 'plan of attack' makes it even more logical. knocking off a couple of small/quick tasks first helps me feel i'm winning again...
5) do something you enjoy - being stressed can feel like every last task is a 'matter of life and death', which isn't really the case. sometimes i'll just down tools and pick up my camera, go for a walk and get lost in the moment + the wonder of the world around me...

hope this helps a bit

as for me, i think listening to some music that you think it will fend off the feeling of it. Cause you need something to listen to, and i don't think that rock music is included in the list.

2nd, take some time for a stroll in the mall, i think strolling lets you see some great stuffs, and you will quite amused on the things you will see around.

and lastly, try to have fun with friends, i think it's very helpful for oneself to have some friends when going out.
