I need some feedback from forum members.
In your opinion, what's the best way to do release your stress and why do you think it is so?
I'm looking forward to your advice.
Thank you in advance.

Breathing!
If you consciously make it a point to practice slow, deep breathing at regular intervals, you can keep stress at bay.

Thank for the advice Vishal. I myself strongly believe breathing is the first step that we need to take in order to release stress.
Apart from breathing, what else I wonder?
I heard people listen to the music they love can reduce the stress. What is thought on that?
For me, I have a crazy way to reduce my stress. I simply drive my car to an unknown destination. Although when I have a lot of stress, I did not drive fast or doing some crazy stunts. I drive normally (but not that slow).
It shows that different people have different ways of doing it. Really want to hear what other members have to say about this.

Quoting: Izrul I heard people listen to the music they love can reduce the stress. What is thought on that? Music is also again an excellent way to beat stress. Simply listening to nature can work wonders for a stressed mind. I have a good collection of nature sound cds that I listen to whenever I'm stressed or meditate. They really work well in calming you down.
While there are active (physical) methods of beating stress, like you mentioned, I personally feel that passive methods like listening to music/meditation are more effective in the long run as they replenish you energies rather than depleting, like in physical activities. They also tend to make you more calm and relaxed, helping you to deal more effectively in stressful situations.
Physical methods work more towards the symptoms than the cause. So it's like taking a flu shot when the flu arrives. It doesn't do anything to you strengthen you as such.

You got a very good point there. Honestly, I never think of that before. I never consider whether to reduce my stress in a long run or short run, I just want to release it as soon as I receive it. I believe this is how most people deal with their stresses.
This is a totally new knowledge for me. Thank you so much Vishal.
I wonder how other people inside this forum deal with their stresses.

well, the term "breathing" is not very clear.
what do u mean by stress-relief through breathing?
even if you take those long breaths, does it help much? is there any systematic way of breathing cycles that might REALLY help me getting releived of my stress?

There is a breathing technique called Sudarshan Kriya that does wonders in managing stress and improving your overall well-being.

could you plz explain how it works?
or is there any site where i can get detail info including pictures of any.
by the way, do all these breathing exercises have any side effects, like causing any long term breathing problem in old age?
and how much time it may take to start getting results?
sincerely, tajvi

I dont think that breathing exercises have any bad side effects. Its actually a very healthy way to relieve stress. And there is no definite time for results but breathing usually helps chill you out while your stressed

When feeling depressed or stressed out, I always used to take some time away and pass some free, idle and anxiety free time.
However, if there is a more scientific and technical way, it must give a better result. I think a methodical breathing exercise could make the best use of our time and get you refreshed in a very short time.
Thanks.

I have tried it, and I must thank all, that it worked.
I am planning to keep on putting some time apart for breathing exercise.
As many others suggested, the early morning is the best time for a breathing exercise. What do you think?
Normally I go for a jogging and some exercises in the morning. Should I have the breathing before the exercises or after?
Regards.

My way of releasing Stress is - KEEPING MYSELF READY TO BE WITH EVERY HAPPENING IN LIFE. By this, I mean- whatever I do I am responsible and ready to face consequences, good or bad. That way I do not allow myself to be affected soon by any untoward happening. Even then if I face sudden / un-expected Stress- I keep my eyes closed for a couple of minutes and feel like "NO-WORLD", then take a deep breath and try to reach the root cause of problem and prepare myself to deal with it. NEVER-NEVER-NEVER divert or distrect myself towards any other mean. This is my way. I think It may help some one. DR. G. C. Mehta

Nice method Dr. Mehta. Most of the stress that we face in life is due to over exaggeration of the problem. When we directly face the problem as it is, at it's root and prevent ourselves from getting distracted, stress cannot exist. Stress exists only when we start thinking about the problem that working on it.

Personally I feel most of the stress came from improper time management. Therefore, the ability of manage time is important if you want to manage your stress.
Here is my steps to share with you all: 1. List down all the tasks that you have to finish. 2. Prioritize the tasks. Decide which one is more urgent. 3. Focus on finishing the urgent and important staff.
Hope to hear the feed back from you all.

Hi,
I just arrived here and wanted to say hello to everyone. I am so happy that spring finally has arrived to my country now, as it is more fun to go out in nature when there not tons of snow...
I came across an article about a bed of nails and read about it and found it very interesting.
First I found it strange to relax on a bed of nails, but at the same time interesting how many positive effects people have experienced by using this simple tool.
So I hade to try it for my self as I had hard time to belive in this. I am glad I did. I am really relaxed nowdays and use it for my "beauty-sleep".
How about you?
belive in it, and yes, I was suprised how many good effects it has...
Anyone else that has experiense from the bed of nails?
