Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me. I seem to be able to get stressed really easily doing anything at all... I can do a whole days work one day and be OK and the next I'm really bad and there is no change in work. One night I can make dinner and be ok and the other I get really stressed? I just don't know what's up with me?
When I'm doing something I find myself rushing to finish it whatever it is and I know this is likely to be the root cause but I don't know why I'm rushing?
So is this going to be anxiety or just stress? I was given Anti Depressants from my doctors which I did not take as I am far from being depressed (I'm happy and very active!).. I realise they are linked but it wasn't right for me...
I don't understand how I am OK for days then bad the next one??
Sorry for the long post...
Thanks for reading...

Hi Colin,
techcs: When I'm doing something I find myself rushing to finish it whatever it is and I know this is likely to be the root cause but I don't know why I'm rushing? This could be one of the cause as a racing mind is one of the reasons of stress. A mind that is always racing to do things fast is never in the present moment and is most likely in the future. As a result, it never rests. This slowly affects your sleep and vital energies. Once you are low in energy, it's very easy to get stressed over trivial things.
Try practicing meditation/mindfulness. It'll help a lot in relaxing and slowing down your mind. Please read the book The Miracle of Mindfulness and apply the principles if you wish to make a real difference in your life.

Might be a good idea to pay attention to what you are thinking at the time you are feeling stressed. Sometimes we can have negative thoughts that produce stress without really realising it. Just watch what you're thinking and then flip it to something positive.

Hi Ros,
Thanks for the reply.. I'm trying to do that and I think its working slightly. the last couple of days I've been mostly OK. Its really hard to try to find out what the thoughts are because I don't know why I'm rushing.. Its just strange!!!!
Thanks again..

I really believe that the answers you seek are waiting for you in one of your aspects of self (thoughts, physical, emotional, spiritual).
Often, we all just engage our minds to answer the questions that plague each one of us. In those times of searching, it can help to ask the questions from a holistic perspective. It takes practice, but the body, in all its wholeness, usually knows just what is needed to create more balance and calm.

I'll take the train as is moving on... Yes, I find the body knows and that is the reason I have a bias on using exercises - not only though - when stressed. Psycho-physical exercises like Shaking and Breathing, putting one's attention on body sensations and with the aim of dislodging tension from the body-mind is, to me, the easiest to help me get through agitation. After a few minutes, it is necessary to sit still and feel for a while to let the mind realise it's on a different track now! Things have moved on!
