What do you take for stressed guts?
I either make a meadowsweet, peppermint, and catnip tea or I take a gulp of Pepto Bismol and a couple Tums.

Laughter! Seriously, there is nothing like laughter for stressed abdomen. However, the laugh needs to be deep from the abdomen, not from the mind. Have you ever laughed so hard that your belly started to ache? You literally had to take your attention away from your abdomen to stop that laughter and the ache. Any attention to the belly would fuel the laughter and ache!
Here's a simple exercise to help you laugh/smile from the abdomen. It's very simple and once mastered, you can be really happy and blissful anytime.
If anything makes you laugh, immediately bring your awareness to your belly. Exhale. Just forget about what made you laugh and try to be aware of the blissful sensation inside your belly. Close your eyes and smile. Doing this on an empty stomach will be lot easier. You may not catch it initially. Laugh hard again, exhale, close your eyes, smile and then try again. You'll get it. Once you get a hang of it, you need not rely on any external source for laughter. Simply laughing at no reason and going inside the belly will give enormous bliss. Try it and see the difference it makes to your health and life!

Very true. In this modern world people have forgotten to laugh. Every one laughs from mind and not from heart . To know if some one is genuinely laughing one should see if it comes from belly or just face. Good piece of advice.

I agree that laughter is the number one prescription for stress relief. Laughter can be an effective self-care tool to combat stress.

I find it harder and harder to laugh. I guess excess entertainment has made me senseless. And can't even remember the last time my belly ached because of laughter...and I have a good life! Isn't that sad?! Do you find that today's humour is closer to sarcasm than even. I need some of that "Friends" unburdened humor.

Quoting: bbozhkov I find it harder and harder to laugh.
Just fake it! It'll be awkward in the beginning but I'll tell you, you'll really love the felling later on. Just practice and practice and slowly you'll reclaim your lost sense of humor. And keep smiling. You may want to read this article:
