I eat junk food, watch movies, get irritated and do not do my meditation practice.

oh my! I think you should try to do your meditation practice the moment you get irritated.. to calm you down..

but you see, it's easy for me to say that.. but when I get irritated too, my God! I want to shout and get mad at someone or find fault so I can have the reason to be angry..wooh! and sometimes I can't control it.. then after that bursting, I am regretful...

now, I am trying little by little to control it.. because I always hurt those people close to me and it's not right..

Thats the problem, whenever I get irritated, I CANNOT do meditation. My mind just keep thinking of the event....

I had heard that when you are angry, just go to your car close all the windows and shout at the top of your voice. Or take a pillow and start beating it. This is a very good stress release. Though I have never done that.

I thought that doing those things might cause you a high blood, but when you mentioned it and I ask my friend, she told me that that is a good thing to do. that it is a good way of releasing your anger and stress and you'll feel relieved.

When I sense I am feeling a bit stressed out, first thing I do is sit quietly and work out what is causing me to feel stressed. Once the stressor is identified I consider why that specific matter is concerning me. Then I deal with the problem. Stress gone!

Try setting aside 15 minutes a day for a few days to write about the event and how it made you feel. Don't worry about grammar or artistry. This is just for you. And, stick with it. At first writing about an upsetting experience may be painful, but over time it can help you get past the upset.

Certainly many people find it a challenge to manage the stress in their lives. I work with the national non-profit organization, Mental Health America. They've created a wonderful website that provides 10 evidence-based tools that are practical and easy-to-follow. Please check it out for additional tips on how to manage stress. You may find it very helpful.

When I start feeling stressed, I find slow breathing rather than deep breathing, helps to resolve the stress.

I go for 5 breaths a minute for about 5 minutes. So I inhale slowly for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds and exhale for 4 seconds whilst trying to blank my mind and focus on being calm and peaceful.

Hope it works as well for you.
